Turtlenecks are my favorite tops. This garment can be made of lightweight fabrics or chunky cable knits. Thank God, next year is full of awesome designs. The thing about today’s turtlenecks, you are free to wear loose-fit chunky style or fitted one and still look fabulous! No matter if you are a man or woman, you definitely can find the best style that can easily improve your look and make you stand out from the crowd. Let it be cropped, oversized, chunky, slim or with a loose-fitted silhouette, there will be no problem to find the most appropriate design to fit your body. I gathered both men’s and women’s street style images, where both appear wearing turtlenecks. Check them out!
Every model, actress, actor, music icon was spotted, at least once in her/his life, wearing a turtleneck. It’s no wonder why, the look is both sophisticated, simple and versatile. There are so many cool designs to choose from, but I will say a couple of words about my favorites.
The first one is an oversized big collar turtleneck. It’s a fabulous piece of clothing that can be worn with pretty much everything. I used to wear mine as a sweater dress, but you can wear it over skinny jeans, mini skirts, or even over dresses. If you want to create a more sexy style, then I highly recommend pairing this knitwear with heels or thigh high boots. For a more laid back and casual look, I would recommend you to pair it with flats or chunky sandals. By the way, you can leave your hair tucked in, this is a perfect way to underline your uniqueness. Oversized turtlenecks should be paired with delicate fabrics, I do love to see women wearing bulky sweaters with chiffon, silk, or lace dresses or skirts. Sure, you definitely should balance the whole look, that’s why I advise you to pair the oversized sweater with heels, this will make you look much taller and more polished.
If you are not into an oversized sweater, then you might like to try on a fitted turtleneck. This is a classic version of those 1970’s inspired designs that your mom and dad used to wear back in the seventies. It’s both warm and perfect for the office. If the oversized turtleneck is better for casual weekends, then the fitted one is ideal for both worlds: casual and formal occasions. By the way, I love to accessorize fitted styles with all sort of necklaces. Next one is a chunky cable knit turtleneck. I do like to see them worn by boys and men, as they make everyone look masculine and strong. Just make sure to buy a sweater in a perfect fit to avoid looking frumpy. The last but not least is a fitted sleek turtleneck. I love to see them colored in neutral hues. It can be paired with blazers, leather jackets, slim jeans, etc.
